The Trip’s Highlights
- Sa Huynh Salt Field: The name of the Sa Huynh salt field was Sa Hoang which means “yellow sand”. Local elders changed the name of Hoang to Huynh because Hoang was the name of the Nguyen dynasty emperor, Lord Nguyen Hoang. The salt field is located in the Duc Pho District, Pho Thanh Commune, and Quang Ngai Province. It is very well known among domestic and international photographers for its scenic views. The salt fields look fascinating like mirrors sparkling in sunlight. It was established and well maintained because it was considered the guarding territory of national territorial waters. There are 2000 inhabitants in about 550 households. Their main profession is salt making. It is 116 hectares of salt making that produces 9000 tons of salt annually. March to September is the salt-making season. It is a very difficult job. Most of the women make salt manually under the scorching sun. Locals of the village told that the sea water is directed to the fields, and seawater is evaporated by leaving the salt behind.
- White Waterfall Tourist Area: It is a remote countryside paradise that offers fresh water, and pristine mountains in the landscape containing rivers, waterfall cascades, trees, and much more. This majestic and beautiful piece of nature is a breathtaking charm for visitors. Thac Trang is located in the Thanh An commune and is considered among the most stunning waterfalls in the Quang Ngai province. Our driver will wait for you at the wonderful waterfall. There is a lot to see while passing over the Eo Gio Pass on Dinh Cuong Mountain along the peaceful surroundings of the gentle Ve River, villages, riverside cottages, terraced paddies, and tea plantations. It is a perfect place for trekking among the forests, mountains, and beautiful waterfalls.
- Kon Chu Rang Nature Reserve: It is a paradise for trekking enthusiasts. The most special and unique thing about the area is the transition ecosystem that is between the Annamite Mountains East and West. It is home to adventurous activities such as hiking in the jungle, camping, off-beaten track, etc. The nearest villages and towns are also rarely visited by foreign tourists. Many places in this area are untouched. There are a variety of plants and animal species in the jungles along with some of the world’s most beautiful waterfalls. There is a very diverse flora and fauna in this impressive area such as 170 species of birds, 60 different species of mammals, 160 butterfly species, 25 protected species, and many others. You can learn more about these species. It is a fascinating area consisting of dense jungles, rivers, forests, streams, and various waterfalls. You will also find villages with interesting routines and cultures.
- Ly Son Island: It is recognized as the “kingdom of garlic and volcanoes”. Another name of the island is Cu Lao Re because there is a volcano that is turned off. The area is extremely beautiful and lush green due to that it is loved by the photographers. It is a favorite vacation place for the local youngsters due to the untouched coastline, charm of small towns, and unspoiled wilderness.
