This is the area of some of the most violent crimes in the war history of Vietnam. On March 16th, 1968, American troops did a mass murder of the people of Southern Vietnam. This was done with the unarmed civilians of the country during the war that caused global outrage.
There were more than 500 local people that included mostly old men, women, and children including young girls who were mutilated and raped before being killed. This is a very painful memory for the people of Vietnam. However, they are very proud of their resilient past.
