- Linh Ung Pagoda
There is a 67-meter statue of Lady Buddha that is very popular among the locals as well as tourists. It has peaceful surroundings of Son Tra Peninsula. This area is known as Buddha’s sanctuary or Bai But on the peninsula. It is a stunning spiritual site where locals visit to pray and worship. It was constructed during the 18th century on 20 hectares of land. Pagoda is an amazing architectural wonder of modern and Vietnamese style. There is a spectacular giant gate with three doors from which visitors pass to get into the pagoda.
There are many stunning statues of Arhats, Bodhisattva, Buddha, and sculptural reliefs about the life of Shakyamuni. There is a balcony close to the Lady Buddha Statue from where you can enjoy panoramic views of Danang City.
There is a thousand years old Banyan tree in Son Tra Peninsula that creates a unique and beautiful charm. It is located on the eastern edge of the peninsula so you have to climb a mountain peak to witness the marvelous beauty.
You can have a memorable view from the balcony of Ling Ung Pagoda from 6 pm to 8 pm. There are endless lights of the city, several fishing boats in the sea, and numerous illuminated statues.
- Ban Co Peak
It is located on the Son Tra Peninsula which is 700 meters above sea level. It is a fascinating and spectacular place to enjoy the views of the coastal city. You can admire the breathtaking landscape of the city by watching over its verdant forests, serene beaches, mountains, and panoramic vistas and experience the tranquil atmosphere. It becomes more attractive and amazing at the time of sunrise and sunset.
Son Tra Peninsula is known as the roof of Danang. There are many legends associated with the peak one of the most common tales is: an old fairy once visited the Son Tra. He sat down on a rock to admire the beauty of the land. He created a chess board on a large flat rock, while sight-seeing. A famous chess player, De Thich came to the hill and asked the fairy to join the game. The interesting game was gone for several days but never came to an end.
De Thich and the fairy kept playing the game in the peaceful and calm surroundings of Son Tra. One day fairies came to the nearby beach from heaven. They started exploring the area and came to the rock where a chess game was going on. The laughter of some fairies distracted De Thich and he made a wrong move. The fairy won the chess game and left for the heavens. Residents carved the chess board on the rock as the memory of the story. There is a statue of an old man near the chessboard that represents De Thich.
